Sibusiso Banda
Two for Joy’s Sibusiso Madonsela is out played by B J Callies’ Kgomotso Mokgapa. |
B J Callies FC beat Two for Joy FC 2 -1 in their first round of the super league. The block F derby was played on Sunday at the Giant stadium.
The match started on fire, with both playing teams beautiful soccer and creating a lot of scoring opportunity which they fail to convert to goals.
Its only in the 21 minutes into the game the B J Callies were awarded a free kick just near after the centre field, When kgomotso “Gathosho” Mokgapa broke the deadlock by firing a rocket shot that rapidly went past the Two for joys goalkeeper, leaving him wondering how the ball got into the net in the first place.
The lead goal did not seem to discourage two for Joy as it did not take even a minute for them to find the equalizer. Sibusiso Madonsela, who came into the game just ten minutes before half time, scored the goal that restore hope in just 30 seconds before the first whistle.
The second half was even more intense that the first. Both teams played attacking football which raised more tensions and erosed more impatience as again the excellent passes which were created either were blocked a strong defence or went out wide over the goal post.
Two for Joy’s Sibusiso tried to find his second goal of the match but he was denied the opportunity by B J Callies’s goalkeeper.
Frustration and impatience grew as each minutes in the clock counted down and more shot on target went wide and unproductive. Both team’s hopes of taking control of the match seemed farfetched.
Lehlogonolo Kgasana gave B J Callies the final 2-1 lead goal that they have been looking in the 82 minutes of the game.
B J Callies’ new coach Joe Ndumo said he was happy about the win.
‘The game was fine. It was my second game. Although I am still loooking for the right combination, I am quite happy about the win.”
Dingaan Mosoma, Two for Joy’s coach said they have learn from the experience.
“It was a 50-50 game and we did our best , but sadly we lost. The next we will
improve”
