Snoop Dogg Gets Banned From Norway, 'Can Live With the Decision'

The rapper, who has a new moniker Snoop Lion, is not permitted to enter Norway for two years after attempting to enter the country with eight grams of marijuana.

Snoop Dogg won't be able to visit Norway for the next two years. The rapper is denied entry to the country after he was busted for carrying eight grams of marijuana in his luggage while on his way to a music festival last month.

Snoop is not allowed to enter Norway for two years due to the offense. His representative, Holger Hagesaeter, reacts to the ban by saying that the rhymer "can live with the decision" and currently doesn't have plans to appeal it.

He was set to perform at the Hovefestival in Arendal on June 28, but he was forced to scrap it when sniffer dogs found he brought pot. He's also found carrying more cash than was legally allowed. He admitted the two offenses and was fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600).

50 Cent Releases New Single 'New Day' Ft. Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre

The three music giants sing and rap about triumph and the start of a 'New Day' in this epic track from 'Street King Immortal'.
Earlier this month, 50 Cent announced a collaboration with Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre. After a few weeks and some teasing, the full track is finally out. The song is expected to appear in Fiddy's upcoming album, "Street King Immortal", due in the U.S. on November 13.

As previously speculated, Keys' part was lifted off her song of the same title. She gives the song a bright high-energy bump with her stunning vocals on the chorus as singing, "Party people say, party people say/ It's a new day, it's a new day/ World is gettin' ready, everybody's ready, yeah!/ For a new day, for a new day, celebrate."

A Bit of Celebration in South Africa's Gay & Lesbian Community

Sibusiso Banda

Homosexuality is illegal in Zimbabwe but Taurai Zhanje
takes part in Mr Gay World.
The gay and lesbian community in South Africa has gone through a lot lately, but they can finally take a breather and celebrate a bit despite the many challenges facing the community in the country. Mr Gay World is coming to Johannesburg in April and there are four African countries participating, the largest number from the continent in the competition’s history. This is despite homosexuality being illegal in over 30 African countries. Another reason for celebration, although bitter-sweet, would be the recent sentencing of the murderers of Cape Town lesbian, Zoliswa Nkonyane.

In the Mr Gay World competition, organisers say there will be participants from Ethiopia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Homosexuality is illegal in all those African countries even though the law is hardly enforced. Zimbabwean contestant, Taurai Zhanje, will struggle to convince authorities to accept his decision back home as the country is going through constitutional reforms with gay rights left out.
