Parents and family of the Tshwane University of Technology's student came out in large numbers on the 3rd of May at Gencor Hall to support the graduates on their big day.
According to Deputy Registrar, Michael Mushaathoni, 7 897 qualifications that will be awarded during the 2012 autumn graduation ceremonies at the Soshanguve Campus.
Lebohang Simelela, a Biomedical Technology student, was among those that graduated. She received her National Diploma.
"It took me six years to finish be where I am today. All that hard work has payed off today. Wearing this was my main target and today hearing my name being called up on stage, was nicest filing ever."
Simelela said Bio Tech is quite a difficult course. It requires patience and hard work as it deal with the most tangable human component.
"We work in medical labs. We deal with people's blood and other samples and as you can imagine its quite a dificult job that requires more than patience and medical skill and knowledge."
Simelema said after so many years of studyin, all she wanted was her family to see her graduate.
Her father, Patrick Simelela was also excited to see his daughter graduate. He said he wishs her all the best and he hope this day will inspire her to great hights.
Mmathapelo Mataboge, Simelela's sister, shed tears of happiness when her little sister was called on stage. She said she could not hold back her excitement.
"I'm very happy for my sister, she is a hard worker. I have always had hope and belief in her. I know she's going to be the best in field," said Mataboge.
Simelela is currenty on an internship at AMPATH in Pretoria
