TUT Ga-Rankuwa claims victory

TUT Ga-Rankuwa’s Mphahlele Khutsiso tries out
played Invader’s Koketso Phoshane. The match was
played at Giant on Sunday. TUT Ga-Rankuwa won 2-1

TUT Ga-Rankuwa beat Soshanguve’s Invader FC 2-1 in the SAB SAFA Tshwane League at the Giant stadium on Sunday.

From the first whistle of the match both teams played exciting fast pace attacking football.

Tshepo Beijang of TUT scored the opening goal of the match on the 15th minute. But they could not maintain the lead.

Within 30 second, Tshepo Ramatsetse scored the equalizer for Invaders.

The second half was more intense that the first. Both were heavily looking for the chance to take control of the game wiht the beautiful passes they had.

They created an equal share of scoring opportunities but they all turned out to be unproductive.

TUT were playing with ten men. Their goalkeeper, Steven Mathebula, was given a red card for time wasting and for talking back to the referee.

Despite that setback, in the 50th minute, Sello Ngwepe added the second lead goal for TUT.

Invaders added more pressure on the opponent but all their efforts seemed to be unsuccessful. Most of their shots neither were blocked by TUT’s strong defence or went wide.

TUT’s Beijang tried to add his second goal but he was denied the opportunity by Invaders keeper.

Invaders hopes of recovering were shattered as the final whistle blew.

Invaders coach, Tshepiso Mabena, said they still have a number of flaws they still had to improve on.

“Some of our players don’t train together. And today ewe saw the effect of that. Because we created a lot chances but we failed to convert into goal.”

TUT’s coach, Godfrey Radebe said he was impressed by his team’s performance.

“We played very well because we managed to win with only ten men. The only problem is that we considered a silly red card.”
