Already at an age of 19 years, he has collaborated with over
ten prospective artists who are still yet to leave their foot prints in the
game. He has been enjoying air play in the in big national and regional stations like Ligwalagwala FM, Jozi FM, Eldos FM and
even North West University FM just to
mention a few.
Like every rapper, CYA developed his love and passion for
music back then in high school in Mpumalanga and has since been looking up to
local Hiphop artist like F-eezy, Maraza,
Molly, Zulu boy, Teargas, PRO. And this has had a great influence his ‘flow”
style which is said to be described as “a bit of Kasi Flavour and gritty with
catchy English hooks which is matured enough for his age”
Something you should know this Mpumalanga boy is that he started
start writing his own lyrics, record with his phone and allowed his friends to
critic him. They then approached one of the guys in the same area with
recording equipment and then from there on the magic started happening. CYA
bought his own equipment and later formed a group called "Game Quest"
As public requests came in, they made a name for
themselves everywhere they were called to perform. This lead to him hooking up
with "Mcfab" also known as Hopewell Makhubu and recorded a track
titled “Sbo”
After learning the INS and OUTS of the game, CYA took
giant steps and went solo. He made a mixtape that featured a lot of different artist
and producers from around the country which include underdogs such as of Sil, Swati
Khingkhong, Froz, Dr Tragik, Live wire and so on
Apart from music, the one thing you should also note
about CYA is that he’s one heck of video games fan. Make sure you keep ijt locked on your radio and tellies, this boy will make a big splash.
