Like they
always do, the duo comprising of Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza offers
up-to-date sound with charming sing along vocals. Over and above that, the
group also goes extra mile in dishing songs that are meant to reclaim their
spot in the busy music industry.
After being
silent for quite some time, Theo and Nhlanhla do not only just pull a note,
they let their musical talents takeover, soaking emotions and talking about
issues that any soul can relate to. Produced by
extraordinaire music genius, Oskido and new trouble maker in the music circle,
Uhuru, the project adopts various house music styles, spicing the journey with
some soul piercing slow tempo tunes that reminds one of the old Mafikizolo
tunes.
But taking
people down memory lane is not all that the group has in store for music
fanatics, they also have well spiced songs that are more focused on up tempo
feel. ‘Khona' which carries simple musical instrumentation has a catch
storyline with an easy to memorise vocals. The arrangement and top notch mixing
of the song is just a cherry on top. Not your average duo, this first single
off the album, which also features Uhuru is proof enough that the group is most
definitely back with a big BANG!
Guaranteed
to give the listener that ultimate good music pleasure, Mafikizolo performs
each song from the heart and swings on melodies in a very impressive manner. On
this release, the duo does not only give their outmost musical offering, they
also welcome people to their music diversity space.
Crossing
over and giving everyone a reason to listen to their album, Mafikizolo goes and
jot ‘Happiness' - a song with a strong message for any happy soul on planet
earth. Thanks to the genius producers who guided this release because it is
very hard to come across a project with all the relevant sounds and endless
hits!
A song to
get you into the mood is ‘Khani Mjongeni' - this one has provoking musical
content and well laced vocal takes. Here, the duo teamed up with talented
producer and sound engineer, Bruce Dope Sebitlo who gives the song an identity
it needed.
Other songs
to borrow your ears to are, ‘Reunited', ‘Saka Harabe Bone', ‘Nxese',
‘Nakupenda' and ‘Ngenxa KaThixo'.
With a
string of hits that they have put together in the past, it is clear that
Mafikozolo is serious about their art and with this release, the duo has taken
their music a step further. Reunited is simply a symbol, telling everyone that
the group Mafikizolo is still very much alive and is BACK! If I were you, I
would add this release to my 2013 collection because this is a well done
project that every music fan should be listening to... Go on, get yourself a
copy and get down to music that is about to change the current face of the
urban music scene.
