on making waves in the Design world.
|
This is according to one of TUT Graphic Design student who is making waves in the design world.
Bridget Phaahla has made a name design industry as one of the three top designers, who contributed into the new Tshwane Municipality Logo design.
She won R20 000 in the logo design competition, together with another TUT student, Moshe Ngoasheng.
“I was in total disbelieve because to me, it was a very big competition and for some reason, I never imagined myself winning it."
Although she won, Phaahla said nothing has...
..changed in her life after winning.
"It’s still the same. It depends on how the recipient chooses to behave after everything. But I am more driven now."
She has done other digitally produced artworks for private companies. And she features on a three minutes video about the value and inspiration behind the Tshwane logo.
Phaahla attributes her designs the inspiration to her view and approach to life.
"Every design I've ever created and brought to life, it a piece of me. I always say, the end result of creation is my take, my won translation."
She said the challenge facing art is that most people are unaware of the value it has and she plans on addressing the problems through teaching people to appreciate the power of design and the immense amount of work that goes to visual communication
