Liquideep and Spoek Nominated For MOBO Awards

Prominent South African acts Liquideep and Spoek Mathambo have bagged nominations for this year’s Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

One of England’s top musical prizes, a MOBO award is given to artists of any race or nationality performing black music.

Liquideep and Mathambo are nominated in the Best African Act category, in which they face competition from well known African musos such as D’banj, Fatoumata Diawara and Wizkid.

Winners will be picked based on fan voting and will be announced in Glasgow, Scotland on October 5. The ceremony will feature performances from the likes of Boys II Men, Jessie J, Katy B and Alexis Jordan.
This is the second time Glasgow will play host to the prestigious awards, after a successful event in 2009.
