KELLY LEAVE IDOLS

21-year-old Kelly from Cape Town was rescued by the Idols judges two weeks ago when she didn’t get enough viewers’ votes in the Top 8 Spectacular, but that was their one and only Judges’ Save for the season, so this week she had to go.

After Dr Victor and The Rasta Rebels opened the show with their jolly rendition of “If You Want To Be Happy”, Idols host ProVerb got down to business and set about dividing the Top 6 into a Top Three and a Bottom Three.

Mark, Crushanda and Lefa ended up in the Top Three and Dave, Freddie and Kelly made up the Bottom Three.

Among the celebrities and media experts on the red carpet after the Top 6 Spectacular, Clementine Mosimane from The Wild thought Mark might be going home, but Graeme Watkins from the Graeme Watkins Project and Roseanne MacKenzie from kykNET’s Kwela both correctly predicted that it would be the end of the road for Kelly.

With the competition now down to only five Idols, each remaining Idol will perform two songs at the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands, Johannesburg, this Friday (9 Sep) in the Top 5 Spectacular, “Rock Week”, and the boys from Locnville are the celebrity guest judges!

Tickets are available now from Computicket.

Idols Season 7 is broadcast on M-Net

and Mzansi Magic every Sunday at 17:30.
