Hip-hop trio Teargas, who have been all over local TV screens with their smash hit collaboration Born for This with HHP and Liquideep, will jet off to Hollywood to find out whether they will be the first South African act to win a BET award.
The group, which includes Ntokozo "KO" Mdluli, and brothers Bantu and Eeze Hanabe, have been nominated together with five other African acts - Congolese Fally Ipupa, Nigerians 2Face and D'Banj, Benin's Angelique Kidjo and Ghanaian D-Black - in the category best African international act.
The BET awards honour the biggest black entertainers in the industry and focus on mainstream hip-hop and R&B music, as well as on urban-oriented movies and sitcoms.
